FAQ

What's a typical day of Camp Aurora like?
At Camp Aurora, we spend as much time as we can outside enjoying the warm weather and sunshine! Our day starts at 9:00am and includes free play, outings to nearby parks and playgrounds, crafts, structured group games, snacks, science experiments, and plenty of time to make friends. The day ends at 4:00pm so your kids can get plenty of rest before returning for another day of fun!
What ages is Camp Aurora for?
Camp Aurora is for children who have completed Kindergarten through those entering 6th grade. All exceptions are made at the discretion of the Camp Director.
How do I register my camper(s) for Camp Aurora?
Camp Aurora registration begins on March 3, 2025 at 9:00am. The registration link will be found above the FAQ section on this webpage.
What paperwork do I need to fill out?
The registration form will cover some of the paperwork, but we require an additional Information Form to be submitted within one week of registration to hold your camper's spot.
What happens if the week of Camp Aurora I want to sign up for is full?
If the week of camp is already full, you may join the waitlist. There is no cost to join the waitlist and no obligation to sign up once you're on it. We will inform you by email if a space becomes available and you are at the top of the waitlist. You will have three days to sign up for that offering. If you decide not to sign up in that time period, we will email the next family on the waitlist and offer them the spot.
What is your refund policy?
Campers cancelling before June 1 will receive a full refund minus a $10 administrative fee. Campers cancelling between June 1 and two weeks before the registered session will receive a 50% refund. Campers cancelling within two weeks of the registered session will not receive a refund. Exceptions to this policy are rare and occur at the discretion of the Camp Director.
Do you provide before and after care?
Yes! You can add on before and/or after care for each week during the registration process.
Before care covers 6:00-9:00am and will cost $75 per week ($60 for the week of June 30 - July 3).
After care covers 4:00-6:00pm and will cost $50 per week ($40 for the week of June 30 - July 3).
What does my camper need to bring to Camp Aurora each day?
We recommend that campers wear comfortable layers clothes that can get dirty and closed-toe shoes for running around (please no flip flops or slides). Campers are responsible for bringing a lunch and water bottle. We will occasionally request for your child to bring swimwear and a towel.

Please do not send your camper with toys or special items that could get lost or left behind.
Does Camp Aurora provide food?
We provide healthy morning and afternoon snacks. Please pack a healthy and hearty lunch for your kids each day!
How does Camp Aurora deal with serious allergies?
As part of the registration process, you'll complete a detailed health history form with any information regarding health concerns. All medications and EpiPens should be given to your camper's Counselor on Monday and taken home Friday. All staff is trained on how to use EpiPens in case of an emergency. Please contact the Camp Director with any specific concerns or instructions.
What is VBS week?
During the last week of summer, Aurora Community Church hosts a special week of low-cost summer camp, called VBS, for the whole community from 9am-12pm. Camp Aurora will join VBS in the mornings, then continue with their regularly scheduled activities until 4pm. The lower cost of this week is a reflection of the dozens of volunteers that will join us to make VBS a success.
Who do you hire for staff?
Camper safety is our top priority! All staff members are required to pass background checks and attend program-specific training and the Ministry Safe Sexual Abuse Awareness Training program. All staff members are required to complete a first aid and CPR certification course within the past two years. Staff members must be a minimum of 18 years of age at the time of employment.
What if I have more questions?
Please reach out to us with any additional questions or concerns! You can reach the Camp Coordinator, Lauri, at lauri@auroracommunity.org
