AURORA'S PASTORAL TRANSITION PROCESS UPDATE PAGE

God is doing great things at Aurora Community Church! We are in the midst of an important transition. In the coming months we will be working on improving the health of our church, reorganizing structures, involving more people in leadership, and identifying and calling God’s candidate to lead our church into the future as our Lead Pastor. This page will keep you informed of our progress. Please check back often for updates!

Introducing Lead pastor elect,
dawie de koker

Pastor Dawie is a South African born and raised, third generation Pastor. He committed his life to Jesus at the age of 8, was voted unanimously onto the church board at the age of 16 and has served the church of the Nazarene ever since on local, district, regional, and global levels. God called him to shepherd a group of ten people, and the church grew to 5 campuses serving thousands of people, with a global impact. In 2019 God called him to lead Kirche in Aktion in Germany, with 5 campuses and Communities on Mission globally. He facilitated the launch of the 6th campus recently in Frankfurt. He is currently on a sabbatical, speaking to various audiences in the US, Europe, and Africa, while spending time with his family. His passion is to see local churches healthy and flourishing. He is married to Leonie and they have two young adult children.

Prayer updates

The church and Dawie have submitted all necessary information to our immigration attorney. Once they have finalized the application in the coming weeks, it will be submitted to the government for approval. Please be in prayer for a smooth process and successful conclusion to the journey.
The transition team continues to meet and is working on implementing exciting changes as we move forward as a congregation.

Due to the visa process, Pastor Dawie is not currently an employee of Aurora Community Church, nor is he receiving compensation in any form from the church.
